Scanned Chase statements convert too

A scan or a photo of a printed Chase statement converts the same way as a native PDF.

  • Read by our AI model, no templates
  • Handwritten notes on the page are fine
  • Same clean columns, every time

Photos work best flat, well lit and with the full page in frame.

Chase converter FAQ

Straight answers to what people ask before uploading a statement.

How do I convert a Chase bank statement to Excel or CSV?

Drop the PDF into the converter above, press convert, and download the result as Excel or CSV. Every transaction comes out with date, description, amount and balance in separate columns. There is nothing to configure and no layout to choose: the statement you upload is read as it is.

How do I download my statement from Chase?

Sign in at chase.com, open Statements & Documents for the account you need, choose the month and download it as a PDF. Chase does not offer a CSV export, which is why a converter is needed at all. Chase keeps several years of statements available online, so prior periods are usually a download away.

Is it safe to upload my Chase statement?

Yes. Uploads and processing are encrypted over SSL, and your files stay under your control: you can delete them from your account at any time. Keep your original PDF as the record.

Is it free to try?

Yes. Create an account and your first pages convert free, with no card required. Paid plans only matter once you are converting regularly.

How long does a conversion take?

Most statements are ready in under 30 seconds. Large multi-page files and scanned documents take somewhat longer because every page has to be read. Progress is visible while it runs, and you can queue the next file in the meantime.

How accurate is the extraction?

99% field by field on native PDFs. Figures are read from the statement rather than retyped, so the closing balance ties out. On a low-quality scan, check the totals against the original before you post.

Can I convert a scanned or printed Chase statement?

Yes. If your statement is a scan or a photo rather than a native PDF, our AI model reads it just the same, including statements with handwritten notes on them. Photos work best flat, well lit and with the full page in frame.

Can I convert several months of Chase statements at once?

Yes. Upload a folder of statements together and convert them as a batch, then download the results in one pass. Useful for catch-up bookkeeping and new client onboarding. Each statement becomes its own file, so months stay separate for filing and import.

Does it work with Chase business accounts?

Yes. Both personal and Chase business statements convert the same way, including multi-page PDFs. That covers Business Complete Checking and its heavier summary tables too.

Can I convert statements from prior years or closed accounts?

Yes. Any Chase statement PDF converts, however old. That matters because bank feeds rarely backfill history, so for a prior year or an account that has been closed, the PDF is often the only record left.

What columns does the export contain?

Date, description, amount and balance, each in its own column. Chase keeps the running balance in the rightmost column of the statement, and the export preserves it. On card purchases, Chase also prints the purchase date inside the description; the posting date is the one that fills the date column, which is the one your ledger wants. Nothing is invented either: what was not on the statement does not appear in the export.

Does the export import into QuickBooks or Xero?

Yes. The output is structured for import into QuickBooks, Xero and FreshBooks, so you can post transactions without a cleanup pass. Use CSV for the widest compatibility, or Excel when you want to review and annotate first.

What file formats can I upload?

PDF, PNG and JPEG, up to 50MB per file. Multi-page statements are supported, and multi-currency statements keep their symbols and number formats.

Do I need an account to convert?

Yes. Conversion runs against your account so your files and results stay yours. Creating one takes a minute, and your first pages convert free.

Does it handle statements in other currencies?

Yes. Currency symbols and number formats are preserved as they appear on the statement, so a EUR or GBP statement comes out formatted the way it went in.

How is this different from copying and pasting from the PDF?

Copy and paste from a statement PDF merges columns, drops the alignment and turns amounts into text. The converter keeps each field separate and typed, so dates sort as dates and amounts add up as numbers, with no repair work in the spreadsheet afterwards. Long descriptors, like Zelle references and payroll IDs, arrive whole instead of cut off.

Can I convert Chase credit card statements too?

Yes. Chase card statements are PDFs like checking statements and convert the same way, with purchases, payments and credits each on their own row. The card layouts differ from checking, and that difference is handled for you.

Why is a pending transaction missing from the export?

Statements only list posted transactions, so the export matches what Chase has posted. A payment still pending when the statement was produced will appear on the following statement instead.

What if my scan is poor quality?

A faxed or badly photographed statement can still cost a digit. The totals still come across, so compare the closing balance against the original, and if something is off, a sharper scan of the same pages usually resolves it.
